Because Rooted is designed for personal reflection and emotional support, information you voluntarily provide may contain sensitive or personal information. You control what you choose to enter.
Rooted and the services used to operate it may process limited technical information necessary to provide, secure, troubleshoot, and maintain the service. This may include device or application information, authentication records, error information, and network-related information such as IP addresses.
We use information collected through Rooted to:
Provide and operate Rooted's features
Create and authenticate user accounts
Save and synchronize user information when cloud-based features are enabled
Provide personalized app experiences

Rooted does not use the personal reflections you enter into the app for targeted advertising.
Nova is Rooted's AI-powered conversational support feature.
When you communicate with Nova, information from your conversation and limited context necessary to generate a relevant response may be transmitted to and processed by third-party artificial intelligence service providers acting on Rooted's behalf.
You should avoid entering information you do not want processed as part of an AI conversation.
Nova is intended to provide supportive conversation and general wellness-oriented guidance. Nova is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, legal, or emergency services.
Rooted relies on third-party service providers to operate certain portions of the service. These providers may process information on Rooted's behalf only as necessary to provide their respective services.
These may include providers supporting:
Cloud database, storage, authentication, and synchronization services
Artificial intelligence processing
Third-party authentication, including Google Sign-In
Application infrastructure, security, and technical operations
Rooted currently uses services including Supabase for backend infrastructure and authentication, OpenAI technology for AI-powered functionality, and Google services when a user chooses Google Sign-In.
These providers may process information according to their applicable agreements and privacy practices.
Rooted does not sell your personal information.
Some Rooted functionality may be available without creating an account.
Information created while using Rooted privately may remain stored locally on your device unless a feature specifically requires information to be transmitted for processing.
Certain features, including Nova, may require information to leave your device in order to provide the requested functionality even when you are not signed into a Rooted account.
If you create an account or enable features that synchronize information, applicable information may be securely transmitted to Rooted's service providers and stored in cloud-based systems so that Rooted can provide account-based features and synchronization.
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
Information transmitted between Rooted and its service providers is protected using appropriate security measures, including encrypted network connections where supported.

Information stored only on your device may remain there until you delete the information, clear the app's data, or uninstall the app, depending on the applicable feature and device behavior.
You may request deletion of your Rooted account and associated personal information.
Rooted provides an account-deletion option within the app for registered users. Rooted also provides an external method for requesting account deletion.
When an account-deletion request is completed, information associated with the account will be deleted except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or another legitimate legal obligation.

Rooted is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If we learn that personal information from a child under 13 has been collected without appropriate authorization, we will take reasonable steps to delete it.
We may update this Privacy Policy as Rooted develops, our data practices change, or legal and platform requirements change.
When we make changes, we will update the effective date displayed at the top of this policy. Material changes may also be communicated through the app or other appropriate means.
